Private driver Cape Town: questions & answers
How much does a private driver in Cape Town cost?
A full private day (8 hours) costs R5,000 for City & Peninsula (Cape Point, Chapman's Peak, the City), for up to 4 guests, plus R500 per extra guest up to 8. Airport transfers between the airport and the City/CBD are R1,000 for 1–5 guests and R1,500 for 6–8 guests or 8+ bags. A Hermanus day is R6,500 (up to 10 hours). Garden Route trips are from R7,500, with the final quote on WhatsApp. The West Coast and groups over 8 are quoted on WhatsApp.
What does the Chapman's Peak day include?
An 8-hour private day from your hotel: Camps Bay, coffee at Hout Bay harbour, the Chapman's Peak Drive viewpoint, Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the Boulders penguins and a last stop in Kalk Bay. Andre confirms the final price and what's included, such as toll and park entry, when he replies to your request.
Do you do airport transfers?
Yes. Your flight is tracked, your driver meets you in arrivals and up to 2 hours of waiting on arrival is included, so a delayed flight is not a problem. City/CBD transfers are R1,000 for 1–5 guests.
What day tours do you offer?
8-hour private days around the Cape Peninsula, Cape Point and the City, collected from and returned to your accommodation and planned around what you want to see. We can plan anything from a 6-hour to a 12-hour day.
Can you drive us along the Garden Route?
Yes. Garden Route trips run from 3 to 15 days, from R7,500, with the final quote on WhatsApp.
Do you do multi-day tours?
Yes. Multi-day tours are available. Choose a start and end date in the price check on our booking app to see the per-day price and your total, then WhatsApp Andre the places you’d like to see and he replies with a day-by-day plan.
How many people can you take?
Up to 8 guests per booking. For 9 or more guests, please enquire by email.

Should I tip my driver?
Tipping is at your discretion.
What car will we travel in, and do you have child seats?
Andre drives a Hyundai H1 with 8 seats. Tell us your group size, luggage and children’s ages when you enquire, and we’ll confirm the seating for your trip.
What is your cancellation policy?
We don’t give refunds, but you can move your booking to an alternative day if you let us know at least 7 days before. After that the booking is forfeited. On the day, activities that depend on partners or the weather can be swapped within the day’s plan where possible.
Andre is booked on our dates. Can you still help?
Often, yes. We are a family-owned business with a team of professional driver-guides, so another driver-guide from the team can drive you. Just ask when you send your dates.
Do you have German-speaking guides?
Yes, on request. Our driver-guides speak English, and a German-speaking driver-guide is available on request. Mention it when you send your dates on WhatsApp.
Is Cape Town safe for tourists?
A private driver makes it much simpler: door-to-door pickups, no navigating unfamiliar roads, and a local who knows which areas and times to avoid.
